Here at Fraîche Design we are big fans of the sea and the creatures who live in it. Whether it's the crystal clear waters of a coral reef or a dark and stormy day in Cornwall, the beach is Myf's favourite place and a constant source of inspiration for her. Read on to find out about how she decided to include protecting this space in Fraîche's philosophy.

When creating Fraîche I knew that I didn't want to create another consumer goods company that takes resources from our world and doesn't give back, and making sure our sustainability credentials are at the forefront of our design process has been a priority from day one.
While we knew it was possible for us to create our wallpaper with sustainable processes and always choosing the most environmentally thoughtful option I also wanted our customers to know that it isn't just a marketing strategy for us. Using responsibly sourced substrates from FSC approved suppliers and non-toxic latex inks makes a good start on protecting the planet, but I wanted to make sure we were also giving back in a more tangible and direct way.

Personally I have been aware of the ocean crisis for a few years and have always felt at a loss of how to help directly. Fraîche Design gave me a platform through which to be able to change this and I started researching methods of donating directly to charities working to protect and replenish the life of our oceans.
The Marine Conservation Society are a UK based community battling the ocean crisis through partnerships with communities, businesses and government. Their work includes projects such as organising beach clean ups, campaigning for change in legislation and running volunteering opportunities such as their current Big Seaweed Search (December 2021).

Unfortunately, as a very young, small business we are not in a position to be able to officially partner with the Marine Conservation Society. However, we are able to donate directly to them through another charity: Work for Good.
Work for Good take care of the legalities of charity partnerships, making it easier for small businesses to donate to their selected charities in an official capacity.
Through Work for Good, we have pledged to donate 10% of all profits from the sale of each roll of our Coral Reef Extra Wide Wallpaper, to the Marine Conservation Society.
